A developer of on-line learning systems was considering moving into a new market by developing one or two new programs it thought the market might need.
ProfitPATH carried out qualitative research by conducting:
- Structured face-to-face interviews with key industry players.
- Web based research to evaluate
- The market size and structure
- Competitors and their strategies.
We identified 2 major opportunities which could provide good ROI and highlighted 2 situations which may provide opportunities but which require more investigation.
Client # 2 – Overwhelmed By Growth
An existing client was growing quickly but problems processing incoming orders were causing scheduling mistakes – meaning crews went to sites unprepared.
We spent time with each staff member involved and mapped the processes. They were sound but periodically became overloaded.
- Putting in a workload monitoring system to give early warning of overload.
- Ensuring staff members focus on their core responsibilities during peak load periods.
- Getting the existing team involved in improving processes and determining if more help is required.
Client # 3 – Ready For The Next Level
A distributor of specialist, health related materials serving traditional and emerging markets in an industry which is consolidating. The client’s Mission had to be brought to life.
We designed and facilitated off-sites at which the operating arms identified the gaps between their current performance and where they had to be in 3 years. They developed strategies and turned them into prioritized, SMART Action Plans.
The strategies and Actions were presented to the management team and business owners at a meeting, which we structured and facilitated. Overlaps were identified, resources allocated and alignment with the mission validated.
Client #4 – Not Meeting Expectations, Ready For The Next Level and Specific Growth Related Services
The client is in a constantly changing, hi-tech industry. During the 10 years we have worked with them, they have had to develop and execute several new strategies.
For a number of years, we led them through a process for developing strategies and Action Plans. We helped them complete several Business Plans and introduced quarterly Plan reviews which led to them obtaining a line of credit for $1 Million. As the company grew, we helped the owner build a management team.
The management team now holds the strategy sessions, writes the Business Plan and holds the quarterly reviews. We continue to operate as the owner’s Advisory Board. Their budget for this fiscal year calls for approx. eight times the annual revenues when we first began working together. The company has won 2 Business Achievement Awards.
